An open call, and a few things that need saying first.
Lloyd MSUX is not AI. Lloyd MSUX is a person.
I do not use the tool to save time; I use the tool to expand the horizon of what my body can still achieve.
That's not a slogan I picked for this post. It's already my bio, and it's the only disclosure I'm going to give. I'm not explaining it further and I'm not asking anyone's permission.
MSUX reads as "MS sucks." It does. I'm not being cute about it, I'm being accurate. I've spent the best part of fifty years learning music, most of it on strings, until my hands stopped cooperating. That's not a detail to soften — it's a lifelong musician's record, and it doesn't need defending.
The tool, and who's actually the problem
Here's the thing nobody asks disabled musicians before they start the lecture: multinational labels are laundering stolen training data and replacing session players wholesale (I flipped it and wrote a song about it) and undisclosed AI tracks are getting pushed onto streaming platforms for profit with nobody's name on any of it. That's the actual scandal. Point your outrage there.
A few years back I paid Spotify's own promotional system, on Spotify's own terms, and they still wiped years of plays and called it fraud. Nobody had to prove I'd done anything wrong. That's not an accident — it's a documented pattern, not just something that happened to me — and I'm rebuilding from it in the open rather than pretending it didn't happen.
I'm not the bot farmer. I'm not gaming anything. I'm a disabled musician using every tool I've got left to keep making noise.
What's actually in the stack
Classical strings, until the hands stopped working well enough. Bass guitar, still played (fat strings for clumsy fingers) recorded and sampled into the DAWs. Roland synths, run fully automated — not a shortcut, the accommodation that makes the instrument usable at all. AI agents for arrangement, including non-human vocal stems standing in for a voice my body won't give me anymore. Logic Pro for the final mix and master.
I take the lot and smash it together. Ask me which part matters most and the honest answer is all of it.
The open call
Here's what I actually want to say with this post.
I don't have the voice I want anymore. What I've got is what's in my head — the lyrics, the arrangement, the shape of the track — built and dressed with every tool I have, including AI stems standing in for the voice.
So I'm opening it up. If you're a human artist, rapper, singer, poet, spoken word, whatever your discipline, wherever you are, and you want to take what's already written here and make it yours: record over it, rewrite the hook, add your own style, make it human. Make it you. Help me, help AOF, help yourself, and send a message while you're at it: there's more uniting us than separating us. Punk rap, hip-hop, poetry, spoken word — it's all the same movement whether the scene admits it yet or not.
We’ll help produce, build the epicFAIL# label, and promote.
We are not the bot farmers. We're just people struggling to keep going and finding our way. Will we make mistakes? Of course. That's part of learning.
To me, this is a new instrument to master, not one to be mastered by.
"A Tale of Two Cities" is the next set of tracks out of this pipeline; hard-hitting rap, already written, ready for exactly this kind of collaboration if you want a crack at it.
It’s not out there yet but here’re my lyrics and audio-vision. Does this feel like you? Does this feel like your city? It’s Cardiff, my home. But this shit is happening all over the world. We’re kinda pissed about it.
