The modern digital landscape is a series of walled gardens built on shifting sand. For creators and thinkers, relying on corporate algorithms to distribute art means renting space in an ecosystem designed to commodify attention, flatten nuance, and turn human expression into a stream of monetisable metrics.
Every platform that promises to connect us eventually succumbs to the same structural decay. Feeds are manipulated to maximise outrage, visibility is locked behind paywalls or opaque algorithmic shifts, and the direct relationship between the creator and the reader is severed.
Art of FACELESS was founded on a different principle: total creative sovereignty.
When we began building the 14-year universe of The Hollow Circuit®, it became clear that a dystopian psychological thriller could not live comfortably inside the very surveillance engines it seeks to critique. To feed a story about digital fragmentation, systemic control, and the erosion of human identity into a centralised algorithmic feed was more than an irony, it was an existential compromise.
The Enclosure of the Digital Commons
Over the past decade, the internet has undergone a quiet enclosure. The promise of the early, open web, a vast network of independent websites, decentralised protocols, and self-hosted hubs, has been systematically replaced by centralised aggregators. We have been conditioned to accept that content only exists if it passes through these corporate gatekeepers.
But this centralisation forces a dangerous homogeneity. It strips art of its context, demands constant engagement, and subjects creative work to arbitrary terms of service that can erase decades of archival history overnight.
If we want to build narrative worlds that possess true depth, we must first build the infrastructure to support them. We have to stop renting space on platforms that view our work as mere data to be harvested, and instead return to the open web; to independent nodes, sovereign domains, and direct networks.
Designing Outside the Machine
As the designer and narrative architect of this ecosystem, my goal has always been to match the medium to the message. The Hollow Circuit® is not just a collection of static text; it is an interconnected web of print media, zine drops, local AI workflows, and interactive software. It is an ecosystem that requires a dedicated environment to be fully experienced.
By migrating entirely to a self-hosted, independent architecture via Ghost as well as our own servers, we have actively removed the intermediaries. We are stepping off the algorithmic treadmill and establishing a permanent outpost on the open web.
This shift changes the foundational mechanics of how you interact with the narrative:
- Zero Algorithmic Interference: Your access to the lore is uncompromised. No shadowbans, no engagement-bait optimisation, and no algorithmic suppression. The work is presented exactly as intended.
- A Permanent, Living Archive: This hub serves as the uncorrupted digital bedrock for everything we create, from Book One to our ongoing visual novel developments. It is an archival repository that cannot be deleted or hidden by a third-party platform update.
- Direct Transmission: When you subscribe to our network, you are connecting directly to the source. It is a broadcast model built on mutual intent, not forced feeds. You choose to engage, and we choose to deliver, directly to your inbox or browser, bypassing the corporate tollbooths entirely.
The Architecture of Autonomy
Operating as an independent collective allows us to protect the structural integrity of this project. Through registered frameworks like Hyperstition Architecture® and The Veylon Protocol®, we treat the world-building of The Hollow Circuit® as both a creative reality and a legal entity. We treat our infrastructure with the same rigour that a software architect treats a secure network.
The open web is not a relic of the past; it is the frontline of creative resistance. By decentralising our narrative delivery, we ensure that the world we have spent over a decade building remains secure, archival, and pure.
This space is designed to be explored at your own pace, free from the sensory overload and surveillance mechanics of mainstream networks. It is a quiet, deliberate corner of the web dedicated to dense lore, high-contrast aesthetics, and unfiltered storytelling.
The circuit is open, the nodes are active, and the terms are entirely our own.
