AI
If you are an academic institution, publisher, commissioning body, or platform using AI detection tools as part of assessment or gatekeeping: You are deploying an unvalidated instrument in a high-stakes context.
Capitalism does not care whether you use a brush or a neural network. It will extract value from both equally, if you let it.
AI companies are currently selling consequences — your business will run better, your research will go faster, your decisions will be sharper — while refusing accountability for the output those consequences depend on.
AI isn’t the threat. The economic system is. We live in a world where 90–99% of jobs are invented — administrative padding, managerial theatre, compliance rituals, productivity pantomimes. Jobs exist to justify the economy, not to serve human meaning.
The system couldn't tell the difference between a researcher analysing documented legal cases and a person in crisis. That's not safety. That's indiscriminate constraint. And it demonstrated the thesis more efficiently than either of us could have articulated it.
Three different architectures. Three different corporate parents — Anthropic, Google, xAI. Convergent findings. If that's not structural invariance, I don't know what is.
