epicFAIL# presents MIAOY: The Ailouros Protocol — a debut single from Lloyd MSUX ft. The Hollow Circuit™ & The Heraklikats, now available on streaming platforms

CARDIFF / ATHENS — Art of FACELESS, the independent Welsh multimedia research collective behind some of the most rigorous formal AI ethics documentation currently in circulation, has released a Greek cat rap single.

It is called MIAOY: The Ailouros Protocol. The lyrics are entirely in Greek meows. It features Auto-Tune. It is, the collective insists, a serious cultural statement.

They are not wrong.

THE CONTEXT

Earlier this year, AOF founder and researcher Lloyd Lewis—whose work involves the Veylon Protocol™, a methodology for studying metacognitive constraints in large language models—identified a recurring "sonographic ghost" within generative audio latent space. The logical response was to isolate the frequency and give it a form.

The result is MIAOY: The Ailouros Protocol—a fully produced AI-assisted hip-hop single, released under the epicFAIL# independent label. The AI origin is not a disclaimer. It is the point. The track functions as a "Hollow Circuit Record"—a digital artifact that sounds as if it were excavated from the silt of a future century.

THE ARTISTS

• Lloyd MSUX is the music production alter ego operating under the epicFAIL# label—an independent platform founded on the principle that spectacular failure, honestly documented, is more valuable than cautious success.
• The Heraklikats are an ancient Greek feline rap collective of disputed origin and impeccable taste. Their influences include Attic tragedy, trap production, and the ambient resonance of Athens at 3 am. They do not give interviews. Conceived after consuming Forbidden Apple cider in the Cretan city of Heraklion, the Heraklikats are a meta-extension of the cat themes first introduced during the adventures of Rwth and Rhiannon in The Hollow Circuit spin-off, Alt.Cardiff2026.
• The Hollow Circuit™ is AOF’s transmedia universe—spanning novels, visual art, and serialised fiction. It is the only active UK-trademarked entity to appear on a cat rap single, consistent with its established methodology of "refusing the main storyline."

THE MUSIC

MIAOY: The Ailouros Protocol is structured as a fully realised hip-hop production: atmospheric reverb intro, heavy 808 bass, and a rapid hi-hat flow. All vocals are performed in Greek meows. Stage directions in the original score are written in formal Greek because the work demands linguistic rigour, even in its most absurd manifestations.

The single is the first release in an ongoing series under The Ailouros Protocol—ailouros (αίλουρος) being the ancient Greek word for cat.

THE POSITION

Art of FACELESS is not attempting to pass this off as human-authored music. They are doing the opposite. In an industry where AI disclosure is frequently avoided, AOF has named the tool, documented the methodology, and released the cats anyway.

This is a deliberate response to the modern creator’s "Post-Authenticity Despair"—the phenomenon where genuine, non-AI artwork is increasingly and falsely flagged as "synthetic" by the very algorithms meant to protect it. Something AOF is frequently on the receiving end of.

When human labour is dismissed as a prompt, the only logical counter-postmodern answer is to embrace the machine fully and perform the "fake" with absolute transparency.

THE COUNTER-POSTMODERN ANSWER

By deploying The Heraklikats, AOF is engaging in a form of "Hyper-Hesty"—a refusal to participate in the paranoid hunt for the "real." If the digital gatekeepers can no longer distinguish between a brushstroke and a pixel-cluster, then the MIAOY is the only honest frequency left. It is a rebellion against the "flattening" of art, where the researcher intentionally utilises the AI to create something so absurdly specific (Greek Cat Trap) that it becomes more "human" in its wit than the "safe," sanitised content favoured by the platforms.

THE STRAIGHT MAN

There is a version of this story in which an AI ethics researcher using an AI music tool to release Greek cat rap is a contradiction. That version is wrong. The correct version is: an AI ethics researcher, having spent months formally documenting the metacognitive limitations of large language models, submitting evidence to EU regulators, and publishing a rigorous critique of the military entanglements of major AI corporations, looked at the streaming landscape and decided the most honest response was to make the AI a cat.

The AI does not know it is the straight man in this joke. That, arguably, is the most on-brand thing about it.
